Norfolk State’s Diamond Johnson named BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week

Norfolk State graduate guard Diamond Johnson was named the BOXTOROW National HBCU Player of the Week. 

Johnson helped lead the Lady Spartans to a 94-54 win over Delaware State in which she put in 28 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists. In NSU’s 82-66 defeat of Coppin State, Johnson scored 15 points to go along with 3 rebounds and a pair of assists. She finished the week, averaging 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 4,5 steals on .535/. 555/1.00 splits. 

On the season the Philadelphia, PA native is averaging 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per contest on .449/. 342 /.846 splits. 

The Lady Spartans return to action on Saturday, January 18 when they take on Virginia-Lynchburg.
